SOMFY Foundation supports access to emergency housing

Reminder of SOMFY Foundation's purpose

SOMFY Foundation:

• Participates in building a better world for future generations.
• Supports projects that allow everyone to have access to healthy and sustainable living spaces that respect people and the environment.
• Supports access to emergency housing for people living in regions of the world affected by natural disasters or conflicts.

A contribution in France

A collection was organized from February 14 to 27, 2010 on all our sites in France, with the help of the company's concierge service and for the benefit of our partner association "l'entraide internationale des scouts de cluses".

“The Entraide Internationale des Scouts de la Région de Cluses” was founded in 1995 around the founding themes of mutual aid, sharing and service. It is from the start an association with the aim of providing humanitarian aid in France and internationally in more than 40 countries. Appeals for donations are launched when there are disasters.

10 large bins have been collected thanks to the commitment of our employees! Numerous products such as hygiene products, food, baby care, but also blankets, clothes, work helmets, flashlights were donated for this collection.

A solidarity sorting day for 9 employees was then organized.

In total, “Entraide Internationale des Scouts de Cluses” was able to load 18 tons of products: 40% food, 30% textiles, 20% hygiene and sanitary products and 10% school products. These products were received on site on May 1st and distribution is underway.

SOMFY Foundation's international commitment program "A House is A Home" started in January 2014. It allows subsidiaries to identify, with the SOMFY Foundation, a project to support for the benefit of the most disadvantaged. Together, they provide financial support, often supplemented by the skills sponsorship of Group employees.

SOMFY Foundation has added a humanitarian and environmental dimension to its international solidarity offer with a new partner: Acted.

Acted works on the last mile of humanity by being on the field in 42 countries, 15 of which are shared with SOMFY Group subsidiaries

Two actions concretize our partnership:

• An exceptional emergency donation for the victims
• A joint donation between the SOMFY Foundation and SOMFY Turkey

These donations will help 1,000 people who will have access to basic care and food for a whole month.
